The Perfect Dressing Table
Moving into a new space meant I finally had the opportunity to get a dressing table. I didn't think twice about going with the Structube Emerson Console Table and fortunately for me, it is just perfect.
When creating this space, I really wanted to keep things simple. I knew I wanted some built-in storage, a mostly clear table top, and natural lighting. I managed to make that work, and I'm just so happy to get ready for the day in this corner every morning now.
I drew a lot of my inspiration off Pinterest. I find Pinterest really helped me narrow down ideas and define a general style. I also spent a lot of time looking at Pinterest boards for specific brands, such as IKEA, Structube, and Arhaus, which can also be found here. This tends to be my process when setting up any space in my home.
For some, this set-up may not be nearly enough but for me, this is plenty. The short but deep and wide drawers are home to my nail polishes, beauty products I'm about to try, backup products, and jewelry. On the surface, I have the Muji 5 Drawer Acrylic Case that holds all of my makeup products. The empty Woodlot Rekindle Candle jar now contains all of my makeup brushes. The Tosca Tiered Catch-All Dish with Mirror is my main makeup mirror and also storage for sample sized products I'm currently using. And finally, my Jonathan Adler Gold Carnaby Zebra Stacking Dish holds my rotation of jewelry, which is usually a mix of current favourite Leah Alexandra pieces.
The acrylic dividers in the drawers are from IKEA. I believe these are discontinued now, as I found them in a clearance corner of my local IKEA and can't seem to find them online. If you're lucky enough to have a Muji store near you, I've heard great things about their drawer organizers. I have also seen other people use utensil and cutlery trays as well. Typically, you can find a good selection of those from Amazon, Homesense, or Bed Bath & Beyond.
Next week, I will be sharing how I cleared out my beauty collection, and how I keep this area clean and under control. Once that post is up, I will pop a link to it here! In the meantime, let me know what your dream dressing table is like. What would be your ideal set-up? Any particular pieces you have in mind? Comment below, link me to your Pinterest boards, tweet me, or link me to your post about your set-up if you have one! I would love to know.
