New In | STELLAR*

Long time no post! Apologies from my absence, but I briefly return with two spoilers. One, I will be back in May/June with a bang. Get excited, because I promise it will be good. Two, the brand I'm about to introduce has a mascara that was love at first application. I am absolutely blown away.

Without further adieu, let's jump right into our focus of this post: STELLAR*.

STELLAR* is a cruelty-free and vegan beauty brand. Based in Canada, this brand is now available exclusively at Sephora online and in select stores in North America. Founder Monika Deol put her focus into catering towards those with medium skin tones, but still offers 22 shades in the brand's foundation and coloured cosmetics that would suit all skin tones.

I was kindly sent the Absolute Mascara in Dark Horse*, Infinite Lipstick in Wicked Aura*, and Cosmic Face Powder in Haze*. I planned on purchasing the mascara and face powder at some point anyway, so I was happy to see these on my doorstep. So far, I have only tried the mascara but immediately fell in love with it. The Cosmic Face Powder in Haze* is a universal product for all skin tones as a perfecting powder, which I imagine will be similar to my much loved Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. The Infinite Lipstick in Wicked Aura* is a stunning bright plum shade, but frankly I reckon I'll be passing it along to a bright lipstick loving friend of mine and will purchase the shades Dark Matter 01 or Dark Matter 03, both nudes, instead.

Some of you may remember that I once loved the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara which I couldn't bring myself to purchase since it isn't cruelty-free. I then went on to love the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara which checks all the boxes, but is a bit of a pain to remove. Enter the STELLAR* Absolute Mascara in Dark Horse*. On the first coat, it provided great length and gave a natural finish. We're talking length that even my boyfriend noticed right away. On the second coat, it gave so much volume and curl, I was blown away. I went in with low expectations as usual with mascaras, and ended up overly impressed. This is the cruelty-free, vegan, and more affordable version of the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in my books.

The number one thing I look for in a mascara is its ability to hold a curl, and this one does it. It even does it incredibly well. While the formula is important, I give the brush a lot of credit as well. I love that slight curve to the wand that hugs the lashes as I wiggle the wand through. On the second coat, I flip the brush over to the longer bristles and comb through the outer lashes with it to add extra volume. I find that the brush is great at picking up just the right amount of product, allowing the product to build gradually without becoming clumpy.

I can't wait to try more from STELLAR*, and as of right now I recommend their mascara to everyone. It's a must-try.

Have you tried anything by STELLAR* yet, and is there anything you will be adding to your wishlist?

* This post was not paid for or sponsored in any way. I was not asked to mention the brand at all. Products were kindly sent to me for consideration and all opinions are my own.
