5 Things to Buy This July
I almost forgot to do this, but don't worry. I'm back with the second "5 things to buy this month" post, this time featuring some true summer makeup essentials and two newer discoveries I just can't get enough of.
Let's address one of the most talked about products here. The Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette is just incredible. While it is sold out online at Sephora, there may still be some available in your local Sephora store. If you can get your hands on it, don't think twice. I think it's an incredible investment product that is great for both everyday use and special occasions. The two highlighters, Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop are both fantastic used on their own and mixed together. Of the blushes, Rose Spritz is the only obviously shimmery option. Amaretto and Pamplemousse are both more satin finish blushes. Sometimes I will mix Rose Spritz with one of the other two shades for a more shimmery finish. My most used shade so far is Amaretto on its own.
I can't get enough of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara* over the past month because it is just so good at giving my lashes length and volume while holding a curl. Some days I'll just apply to coats of this with no eyeshadow on. It's definitely a 5 minute makeup staple.
On the brows, I've fallen for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate. Now that I've gotten the hang of it, this product is actually incredibly easy to apply and is a product that you really do not have to worry about for the rest of the day. With the summer heat and humidity, this is the only brow product I own that stands up to the weather.
For foundation I have been keeping it simple with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation in Light Sand. My skin has been looking good lately so I just lightly buff the foundation all over my face then focus on areas that may require more coverage for a second layer. This product holds up great in the heat and leaves my skin shine free throughout the day.
Lastly, one of the products that has been keeping my skin looking glowy and smooth is the Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder*. I have been using it for regular exfoliation over the past week and it makes my skin feel and look amazing. It is more of a pricey product but it is so worth the money. I think it will be a great one to use every day or every other day throughout the year.
What are some of your recommendations for the month?
