Top 5 | Blushes
Clearing up my collection got me evaluating the products I truly love, use, and want to keep. It was all about paring down to the essentials and embracing a more minimalist approach to everything. From this recent clear-out, I decided to share some of my top fives of different categories this week. Today, we start with blushes.
This is by far my most-reached-for blush in the whole collection. Everything about it makes it the perfect everyday shade, from the finish to the shade to the longevity. I like that it gives a sculpted, slightly pink, matte finish for a very natural looking flush that goes with any look. I don't think there is any blush I could recommend more to everyone.
Cooler months mean NARS Sin on the cheeks. While terrifying in the pan, this berry shade looks absolutely gorgeous lighted dusted on the cheeks for a warm flush. It has slight golden shimmers in it to catch the light, giving the cheeks a subtle glow. I love pairing this with any purple-toned lip shade and especially with a vampy shade for a full-out autumn/winter look.
Although known as the "nipple blush" to some, this blush is great if you can get over the look of it in the pan. More often reached for in the summer, I have been loving this blush for a true pink glow. The outer shade goes along the cheekbones while the centre shade goes on the apples of the cheek for added dimension.
I use to avoid mentioning the centre shade of this palette as it was previously a limited edition shade. Recently it has been released individually in the permanent collection, for good reasons. This radiant coral-pink shade is so gorgeous on its own or mixed with a more neutral shade for a more toned-down finish.
This was the first high-end blush I ever owned and therefore holds a special place in my heart. I liked it from the moment I purchased it and to this day I still love it, though it doesn't get as much use as before. The golden apricot flush just cannot be matched by others as it is different yet not ridiculous. Time to pull it out again just to rekindle that love.
