6 Things to Buy This September6.9.16
This month features a green and cruelty-free edition of the Things to Buy This Month. This month also features not 5, but 6 products. As we transition into a different season, I personally like to step back and take a look at what colours I want to start wearing and what products I want to switch out as my body starts to react to the change in weather. Here are the products I'm seeing more of in my collection, that I think you will all enjoy too.
My skin has been less oily as the weather cools, and cream or balm cleansers tend to start making their way into my skincare routine. To keep exfoliating without using the harsh scrubs or chemicals which can tend to dry my skin out, I have been reaching for the Pai Organic Muslin Face Cloths. The texture of this cloth adds an element of exfoliation to the cleansing process as I wipe away the cleanser with this cloth when rinsing. It's an affordable tool that really does the job.
Not only am I exfoliating my face, I am also exfoliating my lips more regularly. The French Girl Organics Rose Lip Polish has been my go-to. I tend to use it after a shower as my skin is softer so it is easier to scrub away any flaking skin or left-over super long-lasting lip product. During the day to keep my lips hydrated, I tend to reach for a tinted lip balm. Currently I'm loving the Kari Gran Color Lip Whip in Jolene* for a pop of colour before it's really time to bust out the plum-tones for autumn.
In my hair, I still love the French Girl Organics Sea Spray for an effortless kick of volume and texture without the crunch. I have naturally slightly wavy hair so this helps to enhance the natural texture in my hair. It is also a great product to use before twisting or braiding my hair for overnight curls and waves.
I started using bath salts again after I finally got a clean tub at my new apartment this year and my dear friend Reyna of KODO sent me the KODO Breathe Mineral Bath Soak*. I forgot how relaxing it is to just use aromatherapy bath salts to relax and decongest. I love these as they have a peppermint and lavender scent to them. They have been the perfect Sunday evening treat.
Lastly, between using up perfume samples I have been occasionally reaching for the By Rosie Jane Leila Lou Perfume Oil*. I love the hint of fruity sweetness over the scent of fresh cut grass and jasmine. It is such a fresh scent that I feel is appropriate from spring to early autumn before the leaves hit the ground.
What do you recommend buying for this transition period? Any green beauty products to recommend also?
