Shoes, Shoes, Shoes | The 3 I'm Loving21.5.16
When it comes to shoes, comfort comes first, style comes second. To find a pair of shoes that feel great and look great on my feet can be tough, just because I am so fussy about them. Thus, I only have a small handful of shoes but I'm happy to say I love every pair. More recently, I have been rotating between three pairs of spring and summer appropriate shoes. I love love love them, and here are the reasons why.
Okay, I love running shoes. I am so glad that there are stylish running shoe options these days that are acceptable as everyday shoes. Living downtown, I spend a fair amount of time walking. While I still absolutely love my Nike Free Run 5.0, I picked up the Adidas Pure Boost X by Stella McCartney Shoes nearly two months ago now and can't get enough of them. When I wear them, it is as though I am walking on clouds. They are so comfortable, easy to slip on, and eye catching in a good way. I just can't get enough, and although I've worn them many times now they still look nearly brand new. It was totally worth the investment.
Slightly controversial, but I love wearing the Birkenstock Mayari style sandals in the summer. Though they took a couple days to properly break into, they were worth it. I like how snug yet comfortable they fit, and can pair them with just about anything for everyday wear. The Mayari is a style I see worn less often and tend to be a little more challenging to find, but if you can get a hold of them I'd suggest trying them on. They fit really beautifully on feet of all sizes as the straps are adjustable.
Up until just under a month ago, I didn't own a pair of proper heels. By proper I mean a heel that isn't an inch or less. With some more formal events to attend, I finally found the pair that's right for me. Say hello to the fairly affordable and rather comfortable Hinge Drea Peep Toe Leather Sandals from Nordstrom. The chunky heel makes it possible for me to actually wear them, and the incline is just right. They do seem to be a slimmer style though, so anyone with average or slim feet should fit these quite well. I like that you can both dress these up or dress these down. For events, I can slip them on with dress. For everyday wear, they go great with jeans.
