15 Favourites From 201530.12.15
Last year I did a 14 Favourites From 2014 post so I figured it would only make sense to do the same again this year. To wrap up the year of 2015, here are 15 of my favourite, most used products.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation
In the beginning and end of the year, I reached for this foundation over and over as I just absolutely love it. It provide incredible coverage, and with plenty of shades and a skin-like finish the foundation is nearly undetectable when applied. As the name suggests, it is long wearing on all different skin types during any season.
I rediscovered the little pink sponge this year when I started using the aforementioned Tarte foundation. I find that it blends out the product beautifully and the two together make a great team.
This was mentioned last year but I just have to mention it again. I have used it about 75% of the year so it only makes sense to rave about how much I love this blush all over again. The shade is perfect for adding a little life and dimension to the complexion with any eye look, and it is so pigmented and long lasting on the cheeks.
Closer to the end of the year I finally took the plunge and tried out this brow pencil. I absolutely fell in love as the flat and wide nib allowed for both precision and speed in the application process. I take the thin side to outline the brows, then the wide edge to fill things in. The waxy texture of the product also keeps my brows in place so I don't even need to use a gel after.
I had been wanting this eyeshadow for over a year and midway through the year, I finally managed to get my hands on it. Within months, I already hit pan on it as I used it almost every single day after getting it. It is the perfect everyday shade that is slightly shimmery and just dark enough to add dimension.
I really appreciate a nice winged liner look or just a thin line after eyeshadow for extra definition. This Stila offering comes in the form of a felt tip pen that is just the right size and length for great application control. It is pigmented and long wearing so I never have to worry about having to go over it twice or watch it fade throughout the day.
My long lasting everyday shade is, without a doubt, this one. This deeper mauve applies with a matte finish that isn't drying, but stays for hours even after a meal. The packaging is incredibly travel friendly and also features a sharpener hidden in the end, so this basically lives in my bags now.
Talk about a little piece of luxury. This lipstick comes in gorgeous packaging and even the product itself is etched with the signature Burberry pattern. Though this comes with a high price tag, the product itself is incredibly high quality as it is pigmented with a matte finish yet comfortable to wear. The shade Nude Rose is my perfect "my lips but better" shade that is suitable for everyday wear.
Anyone who has been following my blog for some times know that I am obsessed with the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. It was hard to choose just one shade that I love, but Petal is probably my most used shade. Honourable mentions to Honey and Berry for being my go-tos in the past month or two.
I mentioned this last year and I'm mentioning it again. As simple as this product may be, it is also one of the most effective product for those with blemish-prone, combination skin. I notice that any spots disappear quicker with daily use of this product and generally my skin is more balanced. Love it.
Another repeat from last year, but still holding a special place in my heart throughout this year. I haven't found anything else at a similar price point that does a better job than this at thoroughly removing face makeup without drying the skin. I love that the balm just melts into an oil, then rinses off easily. It's great for any skin type any time of the year!
I discovered this in the beginning of the year and it saved the ends of my hair. I spray it into damp, freshly washed hair then just brush it through and dry as usual. It just leaves my hair so silky smooth and hydrated, yet not weighed down.
I don't think there's a nail polish I've had so many people stop me on the streets to ask about. It's surprising how eye catching it is. To me, this is a true deep oxblood red that is perfect for the autumn and winter. Two coats will do the trick.
I use to skip top coats as I changed my nail polish colour often, but now that I keep reaching for the same few shades I love this top coat to maintain that long-lasting, gel-like finish. Not only does it make the nails look great, it really does stand up to its name as it dries the colour quickly.
This is my signature scent. I try different scents and love some other ones but nothing beats my staple Chloe EDP.
What did you love throughout the year of 2015?
