Trying Sculpting Duos28.8.15
I have never been one to contour or highlight on the daily but more recently I have been diving into the world of sculpting duos to enhance my cheekbones. These duos are really travel friendly and easy to use, even for a beginner like me.
The first I tried was the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo*, mine being in the shade 2 Golden. It's geared towards those with medium to darker skin tones which just manages to work with my NC30 skin. The texture of this is quite interesting, as it is a gel-powder formula which is easy to apply and gives a natural finish. The highlight really gives a glow while the bronzer gives luminous definition. This duo definitely gives a wow-factor to the cheeks, and is one I reach for on nights out or special occasions.
For everyday use, I've been loving the oh so popular Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. The highlight is quite something, giving the complexion a gorgeous glow that requires a light hand. The sculpting shade though is perfect, not too flat and not too orange. It really gives the definition you want that looks natural.
To apply the contour shades, I've been using the Make Up For Ever 156 Large Flat Blush Brush*. It is the right shape and density to pick up the perfect amount of product for an easy, simple contour. For the highlight shades I like the Real Techniques Setting Brush. It's a small brush that isn't too dense so it catches the colour and not too much shimmer for that subtle lit-from-within glow.
Have you tried any sculpting duos? What tools do you use to apply the products?
