As the weather warms up, I find that my skin requires less hydration and more products that take away excess oil to keep it clear. To refresh my skin in the mornings I use the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. It very gently removes excess product from the night before and leaves the skin clean but not stripped. The mint in it really helps to wake me up and refresh my skin.

I follow up with the LUSH Tea Tree Water as a toner to help keep spots at bay and wake up the skin even more. I mist it over my face and let it slowly sink in for a couple minutes before following up with a moisturizer. I've been reaching for the Aesop Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum, a nourishing serum targeted towards those with sensitive, combo/oily skin. I take two drops from the pipet and massage it over the face. It sinks in fast and creates a smooth and ever so slightly tacky surface for makeup the adhere to. It is hydrating enough to keep my skin comfortable all day without being too much to create excess oil.

What products do you use in your morning skincare routine as the seasons change?

  1. I like how simple your routine is! I talk about Tea Tree water all the time! It's one of the products I never stop using. It's awesome on hot days when I've been outdoors, since it really helps break down the oils in your skin.

  2. I use the Origins Check and Balances too! I love how refreshing it is, but I'm running out soon so I'm thinking about checking out a new cleanser... I'm using a lighter moisturiser these days, alternating between Origins' White Tea and their Make A Difference range (total fan can you tell)...

  3. Does the Tea Tree toner actually help with spots or is it just a spritz? I am considering whether to buy it or not. I hate buying products when I don't know for sure if I will finish them up or not.

  6. I love the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash, and I'm definitely going to purchase the full size when I get a chance. On days when I have a bit more time, I love to use my Clarisonic Mia for a nice wake me up. Would you say Lush's Tea Tree Water has done anything to help with acne or maybe even lessen hyper-pigmentation or acne scarring?

  8. The Lush Tea Tree Oil toner sounds so refreshing! It would be so nice on those really hot days. I don't actually change my morning routine that much except to use a higher SPF product.

  9. I've noticed, and I can totally understand why you mention the Tea Tree Water all the time as well! It has become such a staple in my collection. I don't know what I would do without it! xx

  10. It is such a good cleanser and I love how a little goes a long way with it. I haven't tried the Origins White Tea moisturizer before but I love the Make A Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment. It's hit or miss with Origins for me but these are definitely some of my staples. xx

  11. I find that it helps with spots. It isn't super potent so it's not going to zap your spot immediately, but it definitely helps with redness, treating the spots, and preventing spots. xx

  14. Ahh I haven't tried using the Clarisonic Mia before but I've been thinking about it. It sounds like such a nice device!
I wouldn't say the Tea Tree Water takes away any existing hyper-pigmentation or scarring but it certainly prevents the spots from coming up and takes down the spots faster if they're there already. xx

  15. I'm about the same. I like to stick to products I can trust when it comes to skincare but I branch out more with makeup. xx

  16. Oh it is perfect for the hot days. I'm on a hunt for a good SPF now. It got sunny really fast here. I swear it was still winter just a month ago. Silly Canada. xx
