It has been some time since I went through Sephora without an intention and came out with a handful of new things to try. I had a good wander around the store this past week and this is the damage done. This haul's theme is really about trying something new.

Since I ran out of my beloved Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, I had been a little lost whenever I wanted a precise and subtle cat-eye look. While I could have gone back to old habits and repurchased it, I decided to try something new. I went for the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, a staple in my roommate's collection. I miss the brush tip on the Kat Von D offering, but this one comes in the form of a thin felt tip that I imagine and hope will be simple to use as well.

Sticking with the eyes, I picked up a sample of the new Benefit Roller Lash Mascara with my purchase. It claims to lift and curl lashes of any type and is instructed to be applied in a rolling motion. So far, I do see that it holds a curl and definitely gives plenty of length.

As spring starts rolling in, I'm looking to shift away from the vampy shades. The new Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipsticks were first to catch my eye during the hunt. It claims to be incredibly creamy as the waxy layer of a typical lipstick is cut away to expose the creamy core. I picked up the shade Pecan, a warm dusty pink shade.

If I'm waving goodbye to the vampy lip, I suppose it means it's time to set aside the dark nails as well. I'm usually one to keep my nails super short but over the past week I've been growing my nails a little as requested by L, the boyfriend, who has been pushing me to try new things. As the white tips of my nails grow in, the Nails Inc NailKale Illuminator has come in handy to add a nice shine and glow to my nails, enhancing their natural state. It is subtle but makes enough of a difference that even L noticed and said it looks gorgeous.

Lastly, I had to feed my curiosity with Bumble and Bumble products by trying the highly recommended Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo. I am so late to the game but better late than never, right? I asked for a shampoo that will deliver volume and texture to my fine and colour-treated hair, and the girl recommended this. Fingers crossed that this will deliver what is promises as spending more than $5 on a shampoo is all new to me.

I'm excited to be trying new things and looking forward to reporting back on these products in upcoming posts. Have you tried anything new recently?

  2. The best liner I have is Benefit's Push Up Liner. Stays on forever! But unfortunately not cruelty-free.

  5. I found it to be quite crumbly and then read mixed reviews on it too. I think the product itself is fine but I struggle with the applicator! xx

As for the lipstick, I'm excited to try it out and see if it's anything special or just a marketing scheme. xx

  15. I think you'll really like the Stila eyeliner - it's my favourite one as it doesn't budge even after hours of doing kickboxing! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Rollerlash :)

  16. The Stila liner is one of my absolute favorites! I've heard good and bad things about the Bite Butter Cream lipsticks, but the colors they brought out are so gorgeous.

  17. Awesome haul! I'm dying to try something from Bite beauty, those new lipstick look gorgeous! The cut makes this new butter lipstick look smaller, though (but I think it has the same quantity as their normal lipsticks!).

I'm still trialling Roller Lash. Actually I'm letting it dry up a little bit because when the formula is too wet it just weights my lashes down.

  18. How is the Benefit mascara while wearing glasses? As the day goes on, do your lashes droop and start hitting the lenses? That's an issue I have with some mascaras.
