I love neutrals but a pop of pink and purple completes the look. Recently I've been loving the purple tones and the easiest way to wear it is on the lips. The MAC Lipstick in Plumful was my first MAC lipstick and it is the most wearable plum lipstick I own. It's a good evening option for me but when it comes to its daytime counterpart, I reach for MAC Syrup instead. It is a gorgeous everyday cloudy pink shade that goes with just about everything. For something sheer, the Korres Lip Butter in Plum leaves a glossy sheer wash of plum and is moisturizing enough to be a great autumn/winter option.

To match my plum lips, I absolutely love NARS Sin on the cheeks. I haven't stopped wearing it all throughout the winter and while it's time I stash it away until September, I still sneak it in once in a while, particularly when I reach for the plum lips.

Out of my comfort zone is my new Burberry Complete Eye Palette in No. 06 Plum Pink. While it isn't particularly crazy, it definitely isn't my usual neutrals but the shades go together easy enough that I can just take this quad and make something work.

What shades do you reach for other than neutrals?

  3. I absolutely love plum lip colors! That Burberry palette looks divine, their shadows are so wonderful and creamy.

If you're going with the plum or berry lip theme you should definitely try the Laura Mercier rouge nouveau lipstick in the color Sin! Seems like lots of brands have similar names for these shades haha.

  4. These all look and sound beautiful; I think i'll have to pick up a couple for myself! I would also recommend checking out Illamasqua Velvet Blush in Peaked, it's such a beautiful plum-y blush shade that is a little more subtle!

  5. I've been wanting to get Sin for foreverrrr, but I haven't had the chance to :( I might pick it up in the next Sephora sale though! I also usually go for more plum or even burgundy tones when I want to step away from browns.
