I'm not usually one to reach for metallic nail shades as I often find them to be easily tacky, but these three I have learned to enjoy wearing as they add a interesting yet sophisticated touch to the nails.

The first shade that got me interested in metallic nails is Essie For The Twill Of It, a greenish purple shade that gives almost an oil-slick effect. It is certainly a hard to describe shade as it gives off a different look depending on the lighting and angle. OPI Frog In My Throat is another good example of a hard to describe shade. It's a nice golden green with deeper blues in it. I believe it was a limited edition shade but I've seen several similar ones by OPI that are still available.

The one I hunted down for ages though was Orly Rage. Everyone seems to love rose gold these days and Orly Rage shows up as nearly a rose gold shade that just looks gorgeous on the nails. It does have some fine sparkles running through it though so removing it can be a bit of a mess and pain but the shade is so worth it.

Are you into metallic nails?

  4. I used to dispise metallic nails, but aww how the taste changes! Especially when almost everything is a trend, we get the chance to give it a go!
I'd start with the first and third one, but the second is so special too! :)

  7. Rage is one of my favourites! I love how glitzy and pretty it is, without being too gaudy! I have a few duochrome like shades in my collection which I really don't wear often enough!

  8. I'm not really a huge fan on metallic nails. I do have one from Sally Hansen that has the multi-colour effect when applied but I rarely reach for it.
