I'm Not Sold8.2.15
I do my research and try products in stores before purchasing, but sometimes I still end up with products I'm not particularly impressed with. Sometimes products just aren't for everyone, so just because I'm not sold on these products it doesn't mean it isn't going to work for you.
The first two products I'm about to mention, I really tried to love. The first is the NARS The NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette, a shocking one considering how much I adore NARS products. With this palette, some of the shades are a little chalky which do not live up to the usual quality of NARS products and some shades just don't work for me. The shades on the left of the palette are gorgeous but the ones on the right are just too dark for everyday wear. Another disappointing palette is the Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in Obscura. This is the best palette of the collection after doing swatches in stores but even then, not all the shades are quite buttery enough for it to be worth the hefty price tag. Shocking, considering how good Hourglass products typically are.
In exchange for Sephora points, I wanted to try the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer. I had never tried a primer before so I figured I would give this one a go. I didn't find that it left my skin any more glowy nor did it make my foundation last any longer.
Continuing on with samples, I get handfuls of Clinique samples as gifts with purchases when I repurchase favourites like the Bottom Lash Mascara or the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I don't know what it is but the Clinique High Impact Mascara is so loved by many but me, until I near the end of the tube. It just seems too wet for my lashes for at least a month or two before it starts to give my lashes length and volume without weighing them down. Then with the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover, I guess I just had high hopes for it considering how much I love the cleansing balm. This makeup remover just doesn't cut it for me as it just leaves an uncomfortably oily film where I use it and isn't as gentle as my beloved Bioderma.
On the lipstick front is the MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo. I adore the shade and I love MAC lipsticks but this matte formula is just too drying for me, especially in the winter. Lastly is another Clinique product, the Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Lip Balm in Budding Blossom is just not worth the price tag in my opinion as it does leave a slight tint but it's barely anything at all. It also isn't as moisturizing as you would expect a tinted lip balm to be.
Are there any products that have been disappointing that you have tried recently?
