Looks like I'm spending yet another winter freezing my arse off in the nation's capital. This calls for some seriously winter-friendly products.

I can no longer just sweep powder foundation all over my face as a base. Fortunately the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation is balancing enough to keep my combination skin feeling comfortable and looking shine free throughout the day. To inject some life back into my complexion, I'm switching between NARS Sin and Tarte Natural Beauty. NARS Sin is a deeper berry shade with golden shimmers running through it, making it a perfect option for vampy lip looks. Tarte Natural Beauty gives that I've-just-been-running-through-snow look that goes with just about everything, particularly a red lip.

I'm forcing myself to experiment with the NARS The NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette just to try something new. I get a little comfortable using the same few eyeshadow palettes and products so it's time to break out of the comfort zone and see what looks I can create with a palette of fifteen different shadows. I shall report back with some of the looks I end up creating.

Dark lips, yes please. For everyday use I'll be sticking with something more wearable like MAC Plumful but this is definitely the time of year for bold lip options too. At the moment I'm switching between the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Train Bleu and Dragon Girl. For a bold that isn't matte though, MAC Rebel is definitely the way to go.

What products will you be reaching for most over the next month or so?

  5. I love MAC plumful :) Gives the right amount of pigmentation on the lips without it looking too over the top. I am lusting over NARS sin blush and I am with you on the Narcissist palette because I find that the colours are so easy to use and perfect for the winter months~

Hope you have a lovely day and thank you for posting~ ♥

  6. I'm also trying to make myself work with the NARSissist palette! I get so stuck in the same routine, and it's hard to get myself out of it.
I've been reaching for MAC Craving the past month, along with Lush Dark Angels cleanser to make my skin feel fresh from all the winter weather.

So glad I picked up MAC Rebel in the holiday collection. Makes it a lot easier to find in my bag with my other MAC lipsticks! xx

  10. You must try Plumful! It goes so well with NARS Sin. Cruella is a gorgeous shade but I think Dragon Girl suits me better. xx

  14. I definitely fall into a routine, especially when I find something that just works well for me.
I haven't tried MAC Craving but I'll have to keep that in mind. The Dark Angels cleanser is wonderful though it's been a while since I last used it! xx

  19. NARS Sin is one of my all-time favourite blushes, so it stays in my makeup bag until the weather gets warmer. I'm trying to use the NARS And God Created the Woman palette. I've been neglecting it, so I'm trying to show it some love.

  23. I have Plumful and it is so easy to wear during winter! I really want to get Train Bleu, but I heard it's really drying for some people. NARS is a brand I really love though and so I might just get it anyway because the color is so beautiful.

  27. so many of my favourite products here! of course the tarte foundation and blushes, as well as NARS blushes and the NARSIssist palette which i adore. i'm really not very adventurous with my eyeshadows to be honest, whatever i do it's always neutral and i only know how to go light/medium and shimmery on the lid and then a bit darker in the crease, so it'd be great to get out of my comfort zone and experiment a bit more! i love the NARS lip pencils as well, i've just got two reds - red square and cruella.

  28. After loving powder foundation, I wasn't sure if I was going to like such a thick liquid foundation but surprisingly, I do! The Tarte foundation is definitely worth a go. xx

  29. Plumful is just such a great shade that works for both day and night. Train Bleu is a little drying, I can't lie, but it's not as bad as other matte lipsticks I've tried. xx

  30. NARS Sin is just the one I reach for over and over again. It's so easy to wear, especially with a dark plum lip. Such a shame that you can't get your hands on Tarte products! They are fantastic! Hope you are able to get your hands on some of their products soon. xx

  31. You do need it! I'm addicted. xx

  32. I am so predictable with my eyeshadows. Nothing fancy, just something neutral and slightly shimmery if not matte. I'm still not sure what to do with the more blue-toned shades of the palette! They're gorgeous but already a little out of my comfort zone. I've heard so much about Cruella and while it is gorgeous, I don't know if I love it on myself. Red Square I do love though but do I really need another red lip pencil. Ehh, maybe. Just because it's NARS. xx

  33. I did a post on my fave shades/shade combos over on my blog if you need some ideas! xx
