About a month ago I visited my hair dresser for the first time in a full year and chopped off a solid seven inches of my hair. I don't miss the hair because it was basically fried at that point. The combination of hard water and my laziness destroyed what should have been beautiful hair. With it being irreparable, I had it all cut off and now I'm loving my shorter hair.

This hair is so much easier to manage, now that there's less of it and it is all healthy. I'm definitely putting in more of an effort to keep it happy and healthy now that it's manageable. I don't have to wash it as often and styling it takes barely any time. A little product goes a long way so I don't mind spending the extra few bucks on some better products to keep my hair nourished.

Most of the time, I just let my hair air dry after brushing some nourishing, detangling product through it. When it comes to the styling, I'll run my straightener through it to either straighten the hair or get some waves or curls in. If it looks like it may need a wash soon, I'll throw the top half up in a little bun or all of it up in a proper top knot.

(Just pulled these photos off my personal Instagram so the quality is a little off. My apologies!)

I'm loving this shorter hair life and I might just end up sticking with it for a while. Do you prefer having long hair or short hair?

  1. Lovely hair and it just feels great getting a chop and when I got mine I got it a little bit longer than yours. I do miss my long hair though.

  5. The short hair really suits you! I much prefer having short hair, long hair is just so high maintenance and it gets everywhere as well!

  9. Your hair cut is so cute! I cut off 4 inches recently and it felt so good! My hair is super damaged from bleaching it so many times and now it looks so much better.

  11. Some days I miss my long hair but when I'm in a hurry, I absolutely love my shorter hair as it's just less maintenance required.

  12. Thank you, Hannah! Ahh, there's always an awkward phase, isn't there? Sometimes it's a little work until you get to the happy length! xx

  13. Aww Diana, thank you! :')
I wish I could say it was all natural but it isn't! I got some highlights put in so it's a little more red-toned than my natural colour. xx

  18. So cute! I love the look on you <3 I personally prefer long hair on me, because I find it more versatile. But I've also gone from super short hair to really long hair.
