I don't insist on matching my blush to lipstick, but occasionally I do because it does look quite lovely.

Before transitioning into autumn, let's start with my favourite duos from the summer. I was a big fan of coral shades and when I felt like going for something bold, my lipstick of choice was the Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Corvina. This bright coral shade went perfectly with the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy for a complete coral look.

For something a little more pink, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush was perfect for fun, healthy glow. With that blush, I reached for the NARS Lipstick in Niagara. It was definitely a more wearable, everyday pairing compared to the first option.

As we approach scarf season I will be reaching for the darker shades more often. For a wearable daytime look, MAC Syrup will be the perfect match for the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed. The lipstick is slightly plum toned while being pink enough for everyday wear. For a slightly more bold choice for evenings, I choose MAC Plumful. This incredibly wearable plum shade is fantastic with NARS Sin and I'm sure of it as I did wear it throughout winter in the beginning of this year.

Do you like to match your lipsticks to blushes for that matchy-matchy look?

  1. Great picks! Sin and Plumful look like they would go awesomely together. I really love going matchy-matchy with my lips and cheeks, and my lips and nails! I feel like it really pulls together the look somewhat. I actually did a post like this over on my blog a few months ago :3

  2. While I don't always match my blush & lips I try to keep everything in the same color family - I personally can't pull off purple blush and orange lips! Which is why I kind of like those two-fer lip/cheek products - it takes the guesswork out of pairing your blush & lipstick!
I own NARS Sin so I think I definitely need to check out plumful!

  14. Tipsy blush is amazing, I have never been able to find a lip color that matched it perfectly though! I'll have to try those two together.
