As we transition into autumn, I'm reaching for the darker shades. Say bye-bye to the corals for now, it's time to reintroduce the plums. As much as I love wearing shades like Corvina from Bite Beauty on the lips, I'm switching it out for the two plum toned shades in this post.

During the day, I like to wear something a little more natural. MAC Syrup is the perfect candidate for a plum-toned daytime lip. Described as a cloudy pink shade, this luster finish lipstick is comfortable to wear and gives the perfect amount of pigmentation to the lips. Even when it begins to wear off after a couple of hours, the damage isn't noticeable and can easily be fixed sans mirror.

Into the evenings, MAC Plumful will be perfect. I wear it during the day too sometimes but I do prefer to wear it in the evenings for a more bold look. This luster finish lipstick is described as a blossoming rose-plum shade, sheer enough with a swipe for a simple tint and possible to be made opaque enough to make a statement.

Are you one to switch to darker lip shades as autumn approaches?

  1. Plumful is my all time favourite lipstick for fall and most of the times I use a lip liner underneath to make it last longer! Lustre finish is the best! I've heard so much about Syrup, should I get it after all? :)

  2. Both shades are so gorgeous and wearable! I've heard tonnes of raves about both of them. I've swatched Plumful and it's definitely on my wishlist!

  3. I definitely switch over to deeper lip shades in the fall - I think deep reds and plums are absolutely perfect for the season. Plumful has been on my list for a while but it's always sold out when I try to buy it in stores, but I've swatched it in stores and have really liked it. I might have to stalk the MAC counter at the department store near my home one of these days!

  5. Plumful is gorgeous isn't it, I find that it isn't too bold which makes it really wearable no matter what time of day.

I had it for years, but didn't use it until two years ago when plum lips were on spot, because the lady in the counter suggested it as a lip liner for a red lip! Go figure haha!
