A good product is important but the best products have good packaging too. Good packaging can make the product a joy to use and here are just a handful that I'm a fan of for different reasons.

THE PLAIN PRETTY
Sometimes pretty packaging just sells it for me, as much as I hate to admit it. I have to admit that the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is one that drew me in just based on its packaging. The classy bronzey gold outside opens up to a stunning glowy marble blush that is just to die for. The Chloé Eau de Parfum is another product to display. The cute little bow and textured glass is just lovely to have sitting on my dressing table. One that I enjoy pulling out of my bag is the Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick. The rubbery charcoal grey packaging is sleek and that slick diagonal cut across the top just makes it that little bit more interesting. It doesn't shine, but I love it as it's just subtly edgy enough to be the lipstick version of me.

THE PRACTICAL ONES
When it comes to skincare, I like most practical packaging possible to keep my products hygienic. The REN ClearCalm 3 Clarify Clay Cleanser definitely wins it for me. The pump is easy to use and keeps the product fresh and clean. The product is also stored in a bag that compresses and squeezes every little bit of the product out. The Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque is another good one as it's easy to wring every little bit of the product out. Again, the product stays clean and plus the packaging looks quite lovely too. For makeup, I have to hand the title off to the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes. The packaging reflects the colour of the product and it really snaps shut. The inside of the cover also has a mirror.

THE TRAVEL FRIENDLY
Not all products are travel friendly but the following are, in my opinion. Firstly, the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. The packaging is slim and light, and I can always count on it staying shut. The inside has a big mirror and the product is a practical mix of neutral matte shades. I also enjoy taking NARS Blushes on trips as it is very sleek and snaps shut. Again, there is a mirror inside and I love that it doesn't come with unnecessary brushes and sponges. On the skincare side, I love the Indeed Labs offerings as the packaging is small, secure, and light.

  3. I have to admit fancy, sleek packaging will always lure me in. Having said that functional packaging that makes using a product easy is always a winner :)

  8. I like buying products with good packaging, most of the time! If I buy it only because it's pretty and the product isn't good though, it's rather disappointing. xx

  12. It's definitely hard not to get sucked in but good packaging is more of a bonus when the product itself is good. xx

  15. I do my makeup on the go, so packaging is super important for me. I adore the NARS packaging - it's not fussy but feels substantial and gets the job done.

  17. Love the packaging round up you've done! I totally think that packaging is like, worth half the product, haha! Definitely agree about the Tarte blushes, mirror, coloured, they're quite slim and they snap shut securely!

  19. Haha it's not always a good thing but usually I do enough research on a product before purchasing so the product itself is also typically good. xx

  20. Thanks! Haha definitely agree that it's worth half the product. I move quite often and if a product is going to fall apart in my boxes and bags, what's the point? xx
