This month, I stuck to some basic products that are mostly newer additions to my collection.

On the makeup front, I've been reaching for the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Fuller Fudge quite often for a darker everyday look. I apply it to the lids straight out of the bullet without a primer underneath and blend the edges out with a fluffy brush. By the end of the day it will all still look perfect, despite having oily eyelids. This simple look is typically finished off with a light application of NARS Luster on the cheeks.

To take the makeup off at the end of the day, I've been enjoying using the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm to thoroughly cleanse the skin without leaving it stripped. I scoop out a small amount of it and massage it all over my face until it turns into an oil. I then splash it off with warm water and pat my face dry. My skin is left soft and clean, ready for the rest of my nighttime skincare routine.

Keeping my overall look quite neutral this month, I have been reaching for OPI Samoan Sand for a polished look. You really can't go wrong with a nude polish that actually makes your hands look healthy. This shade goes with everything and I just can't stop repainting it.

In addition to a quick manicure on the weekends for a pamper session, I also like to use a body scrub to keep my skin smooth. The LUSH Rub Rub Rub shower scrub leaves the skin smooth and smelling lovely. The mix of floral and citrus scents make me feel relaxed and ready for a good night of sleep.

What were your favourites from April?

  1. I've never tried NARS luster - I might have to! I'm so picky about colors! :D I haven't tried the LUSH product either which I may have to investigate :D

  8. Luster looks so pretty-I think I have always thought it looked to sparkly in the pan-plus I don't NEED another Nars blush as I already own 16 plus the Guy Bourdin palette! I recently bought Rub Rub Rub but haven't tried it yet and I have just finished the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm-I really love this basic but efficient cleanser!

LUSH products can be hits or misses for me, but this scrub is a hit!

  13. It has been released for a while now but it's not as talked about as the Emma Hardie one, it seems. I haven't tried the Emma Hardie one but this Clinique one is fantastic and I'll definitely keep it in my collection.

  17. im a bit divided about the Clinique balm. i tried a little sample of it and it just didn't remove from my face as well as i would like. it takes makeup off wonderfully but i still felt that layer or balm after washing. granted, i do use the double cleanse method but i like my oils and balms to really rinse off. .

  18. I haven't experienced the same problem, but it's too bad you felt that way about it. Which oils and balms do you prefer? xx

  19. Fancl's cleansing oil is the best. Followed by DHC. But you can only get those in Asia

  20. Ahh, such a shame! Maybe I visit Asia some time, I'll have to pick those up. xx

  22. On Friday I enquired about the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm but it was out of stock everywhere, typical! It sure sounds very nice and is one that I'm considering buying, it's either that or the Emma Hardie one.
