I've always wanted to try out Soap and Glory products and now I have finally found the chance to!

What they sayA superhero strength skin smoothing body polish with shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar. Transforms your scaly legs from reptilian to radiant. Scented with our Original Pink™ fragrance.

Apply a handful of Flake Away on to damp skin and massage in circular motions until most of the grains are gone. Rinse well, pat dry and apply body glossing oil or moisture butter. (Careful! Avoid application over irritated skin or abrasions, as salt scrubs can sting.)

What I expected: I love making my own salt scrubs with sea and mineral salts and a carrier oil, and never have I ever used a store-bought scrub before! I wasn't sure specifically what to expect but from the hype around Soap and Glory products, I hoped for a good quality scrub that would feel good and smell good!

What I say: I don't absolutely love it but I can definitely understand why people do.

The scent is quite strong and it does linger which I'm not overly keen on; it's a little too sweet and fruity for me to handle and I tend to like more refreshing scents. That's definitely a specific personal preference, however, and it does not take away from my love for what this does.

What I always dislike about body products is when they leave behind a film of grease that makes me feel like I'm sticking to all my clothes, leaving behind a residue on them too. This, however, does leave behind a residue but it's not overly greasy. It's a moisturizing feeling that isn't overwhelming. I can use this all over, including my feet, and not have to worry about slipping and sliding around the shower and bathroom floor after.

The scrubby bits are quite fine as well so it's not too harsh on the skin. It does say that there's sea salt in it though so people with very dry and sensitive skin, beware! It could be a little too much for you. You don't need much of the product — probably a tablespoon or two for the whole body — and it sort of dissolves as you work it over the skin. I use this once a week because twice would seem like too much.

Overall, I would recommend this scrub to anyone with normal to slightly dry skin that isn't overly sensitive. I would also advise you to give the product a smell before purchasing it if possible because the smell will linger. For the price and amount of product you get — $12CAD for 300mL — I think it's a reasonable scrub to buy!
